Our Story

How we met

This happens to be a very funny story! About three summers ago I was renting a condo in North Liberty and for as much as I paid to rent it the darn washer kept breaking and making funny sounds. After calling the landlords multiple times they finally sent the Maytag man, aka Andrew! It was very early one Saturday and someone was knocking on my door! I was barely awake and almost answered the door half dressed. So after putting some clothes on I went and opened the door. It was the Maytag man and he was there to fix the washer. At this point I still knew what sleeping in was so I let him in and then headed back to bed. About twenty minutes later I still hadn't fallen asleep so I wondered back out to the kitchen and began to talk small talk with the Maytag man! I found out he was twenty four (perfect!), he actually lived in the building next to mine (perfect!), and best of all he was a elementary teacher (the best!). I will sadly admit that not knowing more than a handful of things about him I was in love! He was barely out the door before I had my mom on the phone telling her the Maytag man just came to fix my washer and I am going to marry him one day! I was in love! Well time went on and I was still a little obsessed about this handsome Maytag man that I wanted to marry! That I WAS going to marry some day! It was later that year during Halloween time that my roommate at the time, Meghan, decided we should go out. I didn't want to but if anyone knows her she can be a little demanding! So we ended up at a local bar and who to my surprise happens to be there....THE MAYTAG MAN!!! I was of course not going to go up to him and at this point he did not remember who I was..well Meghan decided to take it upon herself to go over and talk to the group he was with. AWKWARD!!! To make a long story shorter, within a few minutes she was pointing over at me and I was of course wanting to punch her by this point!! Not much longer Andrew and his friend made their way over to us. We started talking and I was falling in love all over again! He, at one point, made a paper rose from a napkin and gave it to me. He said since I made him smile he wanted to put a smile on my face, cute but cheesy!! I fell for it though! That's the story of how we met, and we are still going strong!

Our Wedding

Our ceremony will be taking place at Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, IA at 3:30pm on Saturday, October 10th of 2010. We are hoping for the beautiful fall weather we both love so much.....NO SNOW! The Church is located at 2736 Bowling St. SW and is very easy to get to from Interstate 380. We choose this church for many reasons and we are positive it will have great space and atmosphere for our special day!

Our Reception

For our reception we will be heading back to North Liberty to a fabulous reception hall right off of Highway 965, Ms. Susan's! We are very excited for her beautiful hall and her amazing food. We are sure you will have no complaints!!
